By accessing or using UniLink ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

You must be a current university student, faculty member, or staff with a valid .ac.mw email address or other approved academic email to register. By using UniLink, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction.

3. Account Registration and Security

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration.
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
• You are solely responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

4. User Responsibilities and Conduct

You agree to:

• Academic Integrity: Not share materials that promote academic dishonesty, plagiarism, or cheating.
• Respectful Communication: Treat all users with respect and avoid harassment, bullying, or abusive language.
• Accurate Information: Provide truthful information about yourself and your academic status.
• Account Security: Keep your password secure and not share it with others.
• Age Verification: Confirm you are of legal age to use the platform in your jurisdiction.

5. Prohibited Content and Activities

You must not post, share, or engage with content that:

• Contains hate speech, discrimination, or promotes violence
• Is sexually explicit, pornographic, or contains nudity
• Harasses, bullies, or intimidates other users
• Contains plagiarized or copyrighted materials without permission
• Promotes illegal activities or dangerous behavior
• Contains spam, malware, or phishing attempts
• Shares personal information of others without consent (doxxing)
• Impersonates another person or entity

6. Intellectual Property and User Content

• Your Content: You retain ownership of content you post on UniLink. By posting, you grant UniLink a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display and share your content on the platform.
• Platform Content: All platform logos, designs, and code are the property of UniLink and may not be reproduced without permission.
• Copyright Infringement: We respect copyright laws and will respond to valid DMCA takedown requests. If you believe your work has been infringed, contact us at info@unilink.ac.

7. Advertising and Third-Party Services

• Google AdSense: UniLink uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. By using the Platform, you agree to Google's Advertising Policies and Terms of Service.
• Ad Content: Ads displayed on UniLink are provided by third-party ad networks. UniLink does not endorse or take responsibility for the content of these advertisements.
• User Data: Google AdSense may collect and use data to serve personalized ads. You can manage your ad preferences via Google Ad Settings.
• Third-Party Links: The Platform may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

8. Termination and Account Suspension

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Engage in illegal or harmful activities
• Post prohibited content (see Section 5)
• Attempt to bypass security measures
• Provide false or misleading information

You may also delete your account at any time by visiting your settings page.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

UniLink is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• The Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
• Information on the Platform is accurate, complete, or reliable
• User-generated content is verified or authentic
• Academic assistance or advice from other users is accurate

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, UniLink and its affiliates are not liable for:

• Direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of data, profits, or academic opportunities
• Actions of other users on the Platform
• Third-party content or services accessed through the Platform
• Technical issues or service interruptions

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless UniLink, its founders, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Platform, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or platform notification. Your continued use of UniLink after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malawi. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of UniLink shall be resolved through:

• Informal Resolution: You agree to contact us first at info@unilink.ac to attempt to resolve the issue.
• Binding Arbitration: If we cannot resolve the dispute, you agree to submit to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the Malawi Arbitration Act.
• Class Action Waiver: You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis and waive the right to participate in class actions.
